Dmitry Mevdevev pledges to foster civil freedoms
RBC, 07.05.2008, Moscow 13:57:19.Russia's new President Dmitry Medvedev views the development of civil and economic liberties as his primary task, he said in his speech during his inauguration. Only citizens that are simultaneously free and responsible could contribute to their own and the nation's prosperity. Dmitry Medvedev pledged to use his best efforts as President of Russia to develop the country. He added that over the previous 8 years the ground has been laid that would allow the country to develop effectively for decades to come. He believes that everything must be done to make Russia a comfortable and safe place to live in.
