Law on foreign investment in strategic industries takes effect
RBC, 07.05.2008, Moscow 11:35:36.The law governing foreign investment in companies that are strategically important for Russia's national security takes effect today. Earlier, the bill had been significantly amended, and called for changes into a number of other federal laws which were endorsed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin on May 5. In accordance with the new bill, the law on subsurface resources was revised insofar as it concerns the definition of land plots of strategic importance and the conditions of granting the right to use subsurface resources. In addition, amendments were introduced to the laws on foreign investment in Russia, on the protection of competition, on the state regulation of the aircraft industry, on Russia's continental shelf, as well as on joint-stock and limited liability companies, among other regulations.
