Kaspersky Lab estimates spam traffic
RBC, 11.04.2008, Moscow 17:06:49.E-mail spam accounted for 88 percent of the total e-mail traffic in the first quarter of 2008, according to a study released by Russia's anti-virus software developer Kaspersky Lab. The share of spam fluctuated significantly in January, ranging from 73.1 percent to 97.3 percent. However, the figure has been hovering above 80 percent since mid-February. On the whole, Q1 results are not very positive, as the amount of spam is rising, junk mail is still coming in various forms and is becoming more criminalized, spam experts say.
