Kaspersky Lab posts spam statistics for March
RBC, 04.04.2008, Moscow 13:22:37.The share of spam messages in Russia's overall mail traffic reached 90.7 percent in March, a spam statistics research conducted by the Russian antivirus software developer Kaspersky Lab showed. The volume of spam was at its lowest for the month on March 27 (83.5 percent), and at its highest (97.8 percent) on the first day of spring, March 1. Almost one third of all spam in March (28 percent) contained attached graphics, up from 14 percent in January and 20 percent in February. Ads for medicines and healthcare products have kept their lead with 24.9 percent, with education-related mailings in second place with 14.8 percent, elite watch replicas in third with 9.1 percent, followed by travel and entertainment with 6.6 percent, and computers and the Internet with 5.1 percent.
