PM insists on effective use of associated gas
RBC, 26.03.2008, Moscow 11:39:10.Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov believes that all oil companies must start effectively using up to 95 percent of associated gas before 2011. This goal will be set for oil businesses during the meeting of the governmental commission on Russia's fuel and energy industry. Zubkov noted that out of 61bn cubic meters of associated gas that was produced about 17bn cubic meters was literary wasted, therefore, pointed out that the companies were using associated gas ineffectively. The PM also said that such measures as an increase in methane prices and an abolition of the zero tax rate on production proved to be ineffective as well. Therefore, Zubkov urges the companies to take further steps towards the effective use of associated gas.
