Finance Minister says price growth to slow
RBC, 25.03.2008, Moscow 18:21:02.Consumer price growth will be decelerated within the next year or two, Deputy PM and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said at an Agriculture Ministry board meeting today. In his opinion, price increases will be curbed this year, and a gradual downward trend will be returned to within a year or two. At the same time, Kudrin sees a great need for rigid control over the government's financial plans. Commenting on an agreement on freezing prices, the Minister stressed that it was only a temporary measure aimed at counteracting the shock food price rises, and would not be imposed on a constant basis.
