Russia's Foreign Minister departs for Middle East
RBC, 19.03.2008, Moscow 10:18:21.Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is leaving for a three-day official visit to some Middle East countries including Syria, Israel and Palestine. In Damascus, where the minister is due in the evening on March 19, he is to meet with Syria's President Bashar al-Asad and his Syrian counterpart Walid Mualem. Presumably, Lavrov will sign documents to ease visa procedures between Russia and Syria. On March 20, Sergei Lavrov will move on to Israel, where visa-free travel between Russia and the country is to be finally endorsed.
