ALROSA holds diamond auction in Hong Kong
RBC, 07.03.2008, Moscow 18:34:35.ALROSA has held its second diamond auction at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, the press office of Russia's largest diamond company reported today. Rough diamonds of 5 to 10 carats and fancy-colored polished diamonds of special sizes were offered for sale. ALROSA sold $4.17m worth of diamonds, including $2.37m worth of rough diamonds and 52 polished diamonds worth a total of $1.8m. The final prices of the rough and polished diamonds exceeded the starting prices by 22.8 percent and 19.6 percent, respectively. The winning bidders were companies from the US, Belgium, China, Hong Kong, and other countries.
