Ukraine pays 2nd installment on Russian gas debt
RBC, 20.02.2008, Kiev 13:36:08.The state joint stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine has transferred a further $178m to UkrGaz-Energo's account as part of the debt payoff for natural gas consumed in November and December of 2007, Naftogaz's press office reported. Combined with a payment of $104m effected on February 14, Ukraine has so far paid out $282m of its $1.072bn gas debt for October-December 2007, Naftogaz of Ukraine said in a statement. In the press release, the state company accused UkrGaz-Energo for being non-constructive and for complicating the paperwork procedures related to the gas debt, while maintaining that Naftogaz was honoring its financial obligations completely.
