Russia likely to earn Kyoto Protocol status
RBC, 20.09.2007, Moscow 14:42:53.Russia is likely to be proclaimed a Kyoto Protocol-compliant country within the next few months, Vsevolod Gavrilov, the head of the Economy Ministry's land and property department, told journalists today. Once it has obtained the status, Russia will embark on joint projects as part of the Kyoto Protocol and engage in emissions trade. As reported earlier, Russia's energy giant RAO UES prepared 64 projects to be implemented in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol, which can raise some EUR250m-EUR300m in investments.
