Aircraft engine building corporation underway
RBC, 23.08.2007, Moscow 16:02:32.The producer of gas turbine engines for aircraft NPO Saturn and another aircraft engine maker, Ufa Engine Building Production Association (UMPO), have signed a memorandum on strategic partnership, envisaging that, in the end, they will merge into a single company, which will lead the national gas turbine engine market, the companies said in a joint statement. At the initial stage of the integration, the asset management company Saturn-UMPO will be set up and awarded the duties of a sole executive body. Saturn's General Director Yury Lastochkin will take control of the new company, while UMPO General Director Alexander Artyukhov will chair its Board of Directors.
