Russia posts higher effective ruble rate
RBC, 08.02.2007, Moscow 17:44:39.The real effective ruble exchange rate rose 6.4 percent against foreign currencies in January 2007, compared to the same month a year earlier, the Bank of Russia reported today. According to the bank's data, the real effective ruble climbed 14.2 percent against the dollar and 5.5 percent against the euro. The nominal effective ruble exchange rate advanced 1.8 percent against foreign currencies in January 2007. Meanwhile, the nominal ruble stepped up 7.3 percent against the dollar and edged down 0.6 percent against the euro.
