Ruble stable on MICEX amid dollar's rise on FOREX
RBC, 26.09.2006, Moscow 14:22:21.Three hours into today's special dollar trading session for tomorrow deals the weighted average exchange rate was 26.73 RUR/USD, unchanged since 11:30 a.m. today. This rate coincides with the official dollar exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia for September 27. The dollar keeps rising against the euro on international exchanges. The euro is currently trading at around USD1.2720, slightly down from USD1.2730 at midday today. However, the dollar's advance against the euro has not resulted in its rise on MICEX yet. Commercial bank activity decreased a little. Thus, the trade volume amounted to USD785m at 1 p.m. with just over USD340m traded in the previous hour and a half. This is USD100m less than in the first 90 minutes of trade at the session.
