RTS index falls
RBC, 15.05.2006, Moscow 12:06:03.The RTS index dropped by 4.77 percent to 1,681.07 points from May 10 to 12 compared with 1,717.02 as of May 6. The RTS-2 index fell to 1,717.02 (down by 0.73 percent from 1,729.7 as of May 6). The volume traded on the RTS classic market grew up by 35 percent to $378.2m (compared to $279.3m last week), with Gazprom accounting for $285.478m (75.98 percent), Norilsk Nickel for $25.313m (6.74 percent) and LUKoil for $17.411m (4.63 percent) of the total. The top gainers included Amurenergo (up by 22.81 percent), Open Investments (up by 7.78 percent) and Novolipetsk Steel adding 6.49 percent. The top decliners were Surgutneftegas that lost 9.78 percent, Gazprom falling by 8.2 percent and preferred shares of Rostelecom that eased down by 8 percent.
