Russia likely to sell arms to Palestine in long-term
RBC, 28.03.2006, Moscow 15:22:16.Russia does not rule out the possibility of selling military equipment to Palestine, Vice PM and Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov told journalists today. In his opinion, after the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has been settled and the situation in the area has stabilized, the parties can open talks over Russian military equipment deliveries. The Minister stressed that the negotiations should be transparent. He added that earlier Russia and Palestine had negotiated armored fighting vehicle supplies intended for the Palestinian police. The Vice PM also stated that Russia had been supporting and was poised to support Palestine alongside other countries further, adding that no one wanted more social and economic problems for Palestine.
