Central Bank supporting dollar at UTS
RBC, 11.08.2005, Moscow 12:04:31.The weighted average dollar exchange rate amounted to 28.39 RUR/USD after the first hour and a half of today's special session on tomorrow deals. As such, the official dollar rate for August 12 has lost RUR0.01. At the same time, the US currency has weakened today amid low level of dollar sales by commercial banks: by 11:30 they had sold less than USD117m. The spread on deals was as narrow as RUR0.02. Commercial bank dealers believe the Central Bank may be supporting the dollar at 28.37-28.37 RUR/USD.
