Moscow blackout not linked to energy reforms
RBC, 29.06.2005, Moscow 13:10:14.At a meeting on June 24, 2005, RAO UES's board of directors expressed a unanimous opinion that the May blackout in Moscow had not been connected with Russian energy reforms. The main reason for the incident was the depreciation of equipment, the holding's board chairman Alexander Voloshin has told today's meeting of shareholders. In addition, the company's management and operating staff are also bearing responsibility for the crisis. The holding is adjusting its strategic and tactical governance to prevent such incidents in the future, Voloshin underlined.
