Dollar gaining on Russian foreign exchange market
RBC, 01.06.2005, Moscow 10:44:20.The weighted average dollar exchange rate for tomorrow deals amounted to 28.27 RUR/USD at today's opening. This is RUR0.08 higher than the official dollar exchange rate set by the Bank of Russia for June 1. Thus, the US currency is still gaining versus the ruble. The dollar has been strengthening since May 25, or for a week so far. Over these trading sessions is has gained RUR0.16, or 0.6 percent. This trend is due to the dollar's performance on foreign exchanges, where the US currency is advancing versus the euro. The single European currency is now buying $1.2328 compared to $1.2391 at early trade yesterday.
