Central Bank boosting its reserves
RBC, 19.05.2005, Moscow 13:38:03.Foreign exchange reserves of the Russian Central Bank advanced to USD145bn in the week ending May 13, having hit their new peak. This is a USD300m weekly advance. The Bank of Russia has been boosting its reserves for the sixth straight week having added USD7.6bn. Meanwhile, the recent weekly increase was record low since April 8. Last week, gold and currency reserves rose USD600m. Deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia Konstantin Korishchenko has said that for the past several months the bank has been boosting its reserves at a slower rate.
