Russia's foreign trade posted

      RBC, 24.01.2005, Moscow 18:03:10.Russia's foreign trade in the first 11 months of 2004 totaled USD248.2bn, up 30.9 percent from a year earlier), the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported. Exports advanced at a 34.2-percent annual rate to USD163.3bn. Imports grew to USD84.5bn, which is a 25-percent annual increase. Trade surplus was USD79.1bn compared to USD54.3bn from January to November 2003.

      Trade with the European Union accounted for 44.9 percent of Russia's total foreign trade. Russia's trade with Germany contributed USD21.196bn to total foreign trade, which is a 28.4-percent annual increase. Trade with Netherlands was USD15bn, up 66.1 percent from a year earlier.

      Russia's trade with the US totaled USD8.814bn, a 35.3-percent increase from a year earlier. Trade with China grew 31.6 percent to USD13.219bn.

      Trade with the CIS accounted for 18.3 percent of Russia's foreign trade. Trade with Belarus ranked first with a USD15.354bn turnover, up 37.2 percent from a year earlier. Trade with Ukraine was boosted by 41.6 percent to USD15.233bn.
