Kazakhstan interested in Iranian seaports
RBC, 04.10.2004, Astana 19:31:42.Kazakhstan is interested in transporting oil to foreign markets via Iranian seaports, Kazakhstani Prime Minister Danial Akhmetov announced after a meeting with Iranian Trade Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari. As the press department of the Kazakhstani Prime Minister announced, Akhmetov stressed that the issue should be carefully considered. He added that the project of oil transportation via Iranian seaports or railways was promising. Kazakhstan targeted oil production of 54m tons for 2004. In 2003 gas production totaled 14bn cubic meters. Kazakhstan produced 51.5m tons of oil and gas condensate in 2003.
