Poverty level down in Russia
RBC, 05.08.2004, Moscow 15:07:15.The proportion of people living below the poverty line has decreased to 20.8 percent in the first half of 2004, Russian Economy Minister German Gref declared at a meeting of the government. As such, the number of people, whose incomes are below the poverty line, dropped from 33.7m to 29.8m people. The minister attributes this decrease to an advance in the real incomes of the public that gained 9.8 percent in the first half of this year.
