Russia accomplishes tests of new missile system
RBC, 18.02.2004, Moscow 13:35:51.State tests of the new surface-to-air missile system Triumph of the S-400 class have been completed, former Air Force and Air Defense commander Anatoly Kornukov declared at a round table meeting. "I think that launches of long-range missiles will be carried out on some training ground by March 8," he added noting that launches of other missiles will be made by 2005. According to him, the system is ready to be put into industrial production and production facilities are ready to take orders. The system Triumph is capable of finding and destroying targets, including Tomahawk cruise missiles and AWACS aircraft, within a 400-kilometer range.
