Russia and Belarus should agree on common currency by February
RBC, 16.01.2004, Moscow 13:37:11. An agreement on introducing a single currency in the Russia-Belarus Union should be achieved by February 2004, otherwise it will be impossible to introduce it in 2005, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov declared today. As reported earlier, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union is to take place in February 2004. Kasyanov stressed that this issue would be considered at his meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Sergey Sidorsky in Moscow today. Moreover, the sides will negotiate supplies of Russian gas to Belarus in 2004 and its transit through the republic. Kasyanov expressed hope that they would succeed in the talks.
