Presidential Administration Official Asks Not To Lead Anti-Terrorism Struggle To Situation In North Caucasus

Head of the interior policy department of the presidential administration Andrey Loginov said that the anti-terrorism struggle should not be led to the situation in the North Caucasus. At today's meeting of the Advisory council he said that more than 50 political and public organizations registered by the Ministry of Justice which in his opinion may be considered extremist were acting in the territory of Russia. He stressed that it was necessary to adopt a law banning organizations of extremist and fascist characters. According to him the presidential administration was attentively following the fate of the extremist Spas bloc, the first slot on the federal list of which belongs to Alexander Barkashov, the leader of the Russian National Unity. Loginov said that the problem of the registration of the Spas bloc was rather serious because if the bloc is registered the extremist pre-election campaign of Mr. Barkashov may be officially allowed.
