Today parliamentarians adopted the statement 'On Using Force and Fire-arms against Workers and Employees of the Vyborg Pulp and Paper Mill, where they condemn the measures taken by the Leningrad regional authorities and express solidarity with the mill's personnel. The statement also says that the authorities had not been able to resolve the conflict for two years. The Arbitration court of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region had not considered a lawsuit filed by the prosecutor of the Leningrad region, who claimed to have declared the sale of the mill's property invalid. "The workers and employees realized that nobody would help them to settle the conflict and stood up for their rights and interests", the document says. Deputies of the State Duma called on the federal authorities and the government of the Leningrad region to take immediate measures in order to investigate and reconcile the conflict and punish those guilty.
