The Russian State Duma passed a decree about the government declaration on the situation in Chechnya and measures to settle it. The decree states that the Duma approves of the measures on the Chechen conflict proposed by the government. The Duma confirmed that these measures on restoring constitutional order in Chechnya are lawful. The Duma supports the decision of the government to do away with the terrorists not only by military operations but also by conducting negotiations with political forces both in Chechnya and outside this republic. The State Duma suggested that the federal governing bodies should support the activity of the government on restoring constitutional order in Chechnya.
