Leaders of the Fatherland-All Russia bloc wrote an open letter to president Boris Yeltsin to draw his attention to the destructive processes during the present election campaign and to the interference of the state into the course of this campaign. This information was announced by deputy chief of the election headquarters of Fatherland-All Russia Sergey Yastrzhemsky. In the opinion of the bloc's members, Boris Yeltsin is in the state of political and informational isolation and does not get adequate information on the situation in the country. Yastrzhemsky stated it is possible that the president will not get this letter. He also mentioned the threat to the freedom of speech in Russia. As an example he stated that the two TV channels, which are controlled by the state, i.e. ORT and RTR television, give no information about the Fatherland-All Russia bloc and TV-6 channel canceled an information program TSN (television news service).
