A bill "On Amendments to Articles 141 and 142 of Criminal Code of Russia" was passed by the State Duma on the first reading. The bill says that state officials accused of falsifications of election returns and election documents will be taken to prison for a period up to 3 years. Members of election commissions will be fined for a sum of 100-500 minimal salaries. If the same actions are accompanied by attempts to bribe members of election commissions those accused will be fined for a sum of 200-1000 minimal salaries.
